Revision liposuction is a secondary procedure designed to correct the irregularities, asymmetries, or suboptimal results from an initial liposuction surgery. The process typically begins with a thorough consultation, where the surgeon evaluates the patient's previous liposuction outcomes, examines the areas of concern, and discusses the patient’s goals. Detailed medical history, physical exams, and sometimes imaging studies are necessary to plan the revision effectively. The surgeon then formulates a tailored plan to address irregularities, which may involve removing additional fat deposits, smoothing out uneven contours, or, in some cases, adding fat grafts to areas where too much fat was initially removed. On the day of the surgery, the patient is administered either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the revision needed.
