PicoSure is a state-of-the-art laser treatment widely used for tattoo removal, skin revitalization, and the treatment of pigmented lesions. The procedure utilizes picosecond laser technology, which delivers ultra-short pulses of energy to the targeted area. These pulses are so fast that they generate a photomechanical impact, known as PressureWave, that shatters the ink or pigment into tiny particles. This allows the body to naturally eliminate the fragments over time. To begin, the treatment area is cleansed, and a topical anesthetic may be applied to ensure patient comfort. The practitioner then uses the PicoSure device to administer the laser energy in a controlled manner, adjusting the settings based on the specific condition being treated and the patient's skin type. The entire procedure usually lasts between 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of the treatment area. Patients may experience a sensation similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin, but this discomfort is generally well-tolerated.
