Description
Laser labiaplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at reducing and reshaping the labia minora, often for reasons of physical comfort, aesthetic preference, or to address asymmetry. The procedure generally starts with the patient undergoing a thorough medical consultation to discuss expectations, risks, and potential outcomes. On the day of the surgery, local anesthesia or sometimes general anesthesia is administered to ensure the patient’s comfort. The surgeon then uses a specialized laser device to make precise incisions and resect excess tissue from the labia minora. The laser not only cuts but also coagulates blood vessels, which minimizes bleeding and reduces the risk of infection. Once the excess tissue has been removed, the edges of the incisions are carefully sutured with absorbable stitches that will dissolve on their own over time, removing the need for follow-up suture removal.
