Dimple Surgery

Description

Dimple surgery, also known as dimpleplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to create dimples on the cheeks. The operation typically starts with an initial consultation where the surgeon and patient discuss the desired placement and depth of the dimples. On the day of the surgery, the area to be treated is usually marked while the patient is awake and can confirm the exact placement. Local anesthesia is then administered to numb the targeted area, ensuring that the patient remains comfortable throughout the procedure. Once the area is anesthetized, the surgeon makes a small, painless incision from the inside of the cheek, thereby avoiding any visible external scars. Through this incision, a small amount of muscle and fat is removed to create a depression. A dissolvable suture is then placed to secure the dimple, anchoring the skin to a deeper layer of the cheek muscle. This suture will gradually dissolve over time, leaving behind a permanent dimple. The entire procedure typically takes about 30 minutes to an hour, and patients can normally resume their daily activities shortly after, with minimal downtime.
