Body Fat Grafting

Body fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer or lipofilling, is a cosmetic procedure that involves harvesting fat from one part of the patient's body and injecting it into another area to improve volume, shape, or contour. The procedure begins with liposuction, where the surgeon uses a thin, hollow tube called a cannula connected to a vacuum device to extract fat cells from donor sites such as the abdomen, thighs, or flanks. The harvested fat is then purified through a process of centrifugation or filtration to remove impurities such as blood and excess fluids, ensuring that only healthy, viable fat cells are used for grafting.

Once purified, the fat is carefully re-injected into the target area, such as the face, breasts, buttocks, or hands, using a series of small, precise injections. This process is typically done in layers to ensure even distribution and natural-looking results. The surgeon skillfully shapes and sculpts the treated area to achieve the desired enhancement while minimizing the risk of lumpiness or irregularities. Recovery from body fat grafting usually involves some swelling and bruising, with results becoming more apparent as these side effects subside. The transferred fat that successfully establishes a blood supply in the new area tends to provide long-lasting augmentation, contributing to a natural and youthful appearance.
