Scalp Tattoo
Description
Scalp tattoo, also known as scalp micropigmentation (SMP), is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to create the appearance of fuller hair or a closely shaved scalp. The process involves the precise application of natural pigment into the upper dermal layer of the scalp using specialized micro-needles and pigments. Before the procedure, a consultation is typically conducted to determine the desired outcome and assess the client’s scalp condition. During this consultation, the practitioner will discuss the color, style, and density preferences with the client, often using digital images to illustrate potential results. The procedure itself begins with the practitioner cleaning and shaving the client's scalp to create a clean canvas. They then proceed with the pigment application, meticulously layering tiny dots to replicate natural hair follicles or to add density to thinning areas if the client has existing hair. The entire process can take several hours to complete, depending on the size of the area being treated. Typically, multiple sessions are required to achieve the desired look, as each session involves layering pigments to ensure color build-up and appropriate coverage. After each session, the client is given aftercare instructions, which generally include avoiding direct sunlight, excessive sweating, and washing the scalp for a few days to allow for proper healing. The results of scalp tattooing last for several years, although touch-up sessions may be needed over time to maintain the look, as natural skin exfoliation can cause the pigment to fade slightly. Scalp micropigmentation provides a versatile solution for individuals experiencing hair loss due to conditions like alopecia, thinning hair, or pattern baldness, offering a realistic and long-lasting enhancement to their appearance.
