Masseter Botox
Description
Masseter Botox is a non-surgical procedure that involves the administration of Botox injections into the masseter muscle, which is located in the jawline. The primary purpose of this treatment is to reduce the muscle's size and enhance the facial contours, resulting in a slimmer and more defined jawline. This procedure is often opted by individuals who have a wide or square-shaped face or those who suffer from bruxism or teeth grinding, which can cause the masseter muscle to enlarge over time. Additionally, it can also be used therapeutically to alleviate symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. To perform the Masseter Botox procedure, a medical professional first cleans the area to be treated to minimize the risk of infection. Then, using a fine needle, a specific quantity of Botox is injected into the masseter muscle, preferably in three different points. The process is then repeated on the other side of the face. The procedure is quick and usually completed in about 15-30 minutes, depending upon the individual's needs. After the treatment, it is normal to experience minimal discomfort, redness, and slight swelling at the injection site. Significant results usually become visible after 6-8 weeks as the muscle begins to reduce in size.
