A New Chapter After Breast Cancer
My name is Alexis Green, and I came to Korea for breast revision surgery after a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Like many people who go through breast cancer treatment, my original priority was getting through the disease and completing the reconstruction process. But once I was on the other side of it, I realized I still had to live in my body every day—and the result I had didn’t feel like “me.”

My reconstruction had been done by a cancer surgeon rather than a plastic surgeon. While I’m grateful for the care I received, the outcome didn’t look very natural, and it wasn’t comfortable either. Over time, those issues became impossible to ignore. I wanted a result that looked more natural, felt better, and let me move through daily life without the constant reminder that something wasn’t right.

Why I Sought Breast Revision Surgery
I didn’t come into revision surgery casually. I had specific concerns, and they were affecting both my comfort and my confidence. The biggest issue was an animation deformity caused by how my previous implants were placed. Every time the muscle moved, the implant movement and distortion were noticeable—and it came with a lot of discomfort.

Beyond the animation deformity, the overall look didn’t feel natural to me. Because my breast tissue had been removed due to cancer, the reconstruction result was especially important. I wasn’t trying to chase a dramatic change. I was trying to correct something that didn’t fit my body and didn’t feel good to live with.
Why I Chose Korea for Breast Revision
Choosing Korea was the result of extensive research. I looked seriously at multiple countries and options, including Turkey, the United States, going back to Paris, and Korea. I wasn’t just comparing locations—I was comparing the likelihood of getting the highest-quality result for a complex revision situation.
In the end, I decided on Korea for two main reasons. The first was the natural-looking results and the very high standard of care. From everything I found, Korea stood out for producing results that looked refined and realistic, which mattered deeply to me after a reconstruction that didn’t feel natural.
The second reason was price. Revision surgery is not a small decision, and cost is part of the reality for many patients. Korea made sense because it offered a combination of strong outcomes and a price point that felt more achievable.

Why I Chose Seojin Plastic Surgery Clinic
Once I decided on Korea, I didn’t stop researching—I narrowed it down carefully. I contacted about five different clinics and went through consultations before choosing Seojin Plastic Surgery Clinic.
A few things made Seojin stand out. First, there is a doctor there who specializes in breast surgery. That specialization mattered to me because my situation wasn’t a standard augmentation—it was revision surgery after mastectomy reconstruction. I wanted someone with experience specifically in revisions, because I didn’t want to risk being disappointed again.
I also read basically every review I could find. What stood out was that Seojin’s reviews were consistently very high, and they felt authentic. That “realness” mattered to me when I was making a decision from abroad. On top of that, after comparing before-and-after photos across clinics, this one came out on top in my research.

Why I Chose Motiva Implants
Implant choice felt especially important in my case because, as a mastectomy patient, I have almost no breast tissue left. My breast tissue was removed because of cancer, so I needed an option that would work well with my anatomy and still deliver a natural feel and appearance.
I chose Motiva implants because they seemed like the most ergonomic option and the one that looks and feels the most natural. My goal wasn’t just a “better” result in the abstract—I wanted something that would make my body feel more comfortable and look more like a natural part of me.
My Consultation and Clinic Process Experience
My first consultation with the clinic started online, which made the process feel accessible and organized from the beginning. They requested photos from multiple angles, and what I appreciated most was how clear they were about what they needed. That clarity made it easier for me to participate in the process confidently from home.
I took the photos, sent them in, received feedback, and went back and forth online a few times while I was deciding. By the time I arrived in Korea, I already felt like I had been heard and that the clinic understood my case.
In person, I had a consultation with a staff member and a translator. They were very thorough. They asked detailed questions about my concerns and my goals, and they created a chart, drew diagrams, and wrote everything down. That level of documentation mattered to me because it made me feel like nothing was going to be overlooked.

After that, I met with the doctor. By the time we spoke, my concerns had already been documented with photos and discussed with multiple staff members, so the whole experience felt extremely thorough and structured.
I didn’t personally do a 3D scan. I know it was an option, but since I was removing my implants and switching to something totally different, it didn’t make sense for me. Even without it, I still felt like I had a good idea of what to expect and that my concerns were genuinely heard.
Recovery: Easier, Lighter, and More Comfortable
Recovery from this surgery was much, much easier than my first experience. Part of that is because the first time included a mastectomy, which is a much bigger surgery with a significant recovery process.
But another major difference for me was implant placement. This time, the new implants were placed above the muscle instead of under it, and that change has been much more comfortable. The doctor also fixed the animation deformity—the issue had been that my muscle was basically too tight over the previous implant. Addressing that made a noticeable difference in how my body feels.
Something else I noticed is that these implants feel much lighter. That might sound like a small detail, but when you’re living with discomfort, even subtle improvements matter. For me, it added up to a recovery experience that felt far more manageable—and a day-to-day comfort level that I had been missing.
Results So Far: Natural-Looking and Addressing My Main Concerns
So far, I’m happy with the outcome. I’m still bruised and a bit swollen, so it’s hard to judge the final look perfectly right now. But what I can say is that I already feel much more comfortable—and that was one of my biggest goals.
My main concerns going into this were the animation deformity, the discomfort, and some unevenness. All of those issues have been addressed and seem to be resolved. Even at this stage of healing, that improvement is clear enough that I feel genuinely satisfied.
The Surprise: Going Smaller for a More Natural Look
One unexpected part of my experience was learning that I needed a smaller implant than I originally had. At first, I wasn’t expecting that recommendation, and I assumed I might feel disappointed.
But the reason for going smaller was directly tied to what I cared about most: creating the most natural-looking result possible. The doctor recommended going smaller to keep everything looking more natural—and in the end, I’m totally fine with it. I think it looks good. It looks exactly like what I wanted.
My Advice to Anyone Considering Breast Revision
My biggest advice is to do your research—really do it, especially if you’re considering a breast revision. If you’ve already been disappointed once, that can make the decision feel even heavier, but it also makes thorough research even more important.
For me, it wasn’t enough to choose a country or a clinic based on one factor. I needed to feel comfortable with the clinic and the level of care I would receive. That sense of trust matters because it lets you go into surgery feeling confident that you’ll get the result you want this time.
Closing Thoughts: Choosing Comfort and Confidence
Coming to Korea for breast revision surgery was a decision I made carefully, step by step, based on what I needed: a more natural look, real comfort, and a team I could trust with a complex revision. Between the thorough consultation process, the focus on addressing my specific concerns, and how much easier recovery has been compared to my first surgery, I feel like I’m finally moving toward the outcome I hoped for all along.
Even though I’m still healing, the difference in comfort and the resolution of my main concerns make me feel optimistic—and, most importantly, satisfied with the direction I’m heading.
