Breast Revision Surgery in Korea: My Experience

A Fresh Start

Choosing breast revision surgery was not a quick or casual decision for me. My name is Alexis Green, and I’m from New York City. By the time I decided to move forward with revision surgery, I had already been living for some time with results that didn’t feel right to me. I wanted more than simply being healthy. I wanted to feel comfortable in my body again and to have a result that looked natural, balanced, and aesthetically pleasing.

This journey has been shaped by a lot of thought, a lot of research, and a very clear personal goal. I wasn’t looking for something dramatic. I was looking for improvement in a very specific way: less unevenness, less visible indentation, less remaining scar tissue, and a more natural overall appearance. That desire is what ultimately led me to Korea and to Seojin Plastic Surgery.

Why I Decided to Have Breast Revision Surgery

I’m having breast revision surgery because I had a double mastectomy in 2021, and the result was not ideal. While the surgery achieved its most important purpose, I was left with unevenness, some indentation, and remaining scar tissue. Over time, it became harder to ignore that I wasn’t happy with how it looked.

What I wanted was not perfection, but a better result than what I had been living with. I wanted my chest to look more natural and more harmonious. As I gradually realized that I did not want to simply accept a result that made me unhappy, revision surgery began to feel like the right next step.

My First Breast Surgery and the Results

My original surgery was in April 2021, when I was living in Europe. It was done in Paris by a cancer specialist rather than a plastic surgeon. Looking back, I think that explains a lot about the outcome. His main goal was to make sure I was cancer-free, and for that I’m grateful. He kept me healthy.

At the same time, the aesthetic result was not what I would have wanted long term. Because the surgery was done with cancer treatment as the priority, beauty and natural form were not the main focus. That left me feeling like I needed another step in my journey, one that would address the appearance more carefully and help me achieve a result that felt better to live with every day.

Why I Chose Korea for Breast Revision Surgery

The main reason I came to Korea was the amount of research I had been doing since around 2022. As I became more certain that I was unhappy with my original result, I started seriously exploring where I could get the revision done.

I first looked into having the surgery in New York, where I live now, but I found it to be very expensive. I also did not feel that it was necessarily the most advanced option for what I wanted. I considered going back to Paris, but I already knew that I wanted a plastic surgeon this time, not a cancer specialist.

During my research, Korea kept standing out. What impressed me most was Korea’s reputation for natural-looking results. That was the key factor for me. I was not looking for something artificial or overdone. I wanted a result that looked soft, well-executed, and aesthetically refined. Everything I found kept pointing me in the same direction, and that made Korea feel like the right place to pursue this surgery.

How I Chose Seojin Plastic Surgery

Choosing the right clinic was a huge part of the process, and I took that decision very seriously. I contacted five or six different clinics, spoke with all of them, and read every Google review I could find for each one. I also spent a lot of time looking at before-and-after photos because I wanted to see whether a clinic consistently produced the kind of natural result I had in mind.

What ultimately made Seojin Plastic Surgery stand out to me was specialization. I didn’t want a clinic with many doctors doing many different procedures. I specifically wanted a highly specialized breast surgeon, someone whose expertise was focused on this particular area. That mattered to me more than anything.

I also kept seeing positive signs across multiple platforms. I looked at the clinic’s website, Reddit, Google, and Unni. I really did a lot of research, and what I saw repeatedly was the kind of natural-looking outcome I wanted for myself. Once I made my choice, the experience with the staff confirmed that I had made the right decision. They were responsive, accommodating, and informative from the start, and I do not regret choosing this clinic at all.

How I Researched and Prepared

My preparation started with identifying well-respected clinics and then narrowing my focus to ones that specialize in breast surgery. I spent a lot of time reading personal reviews, not just looking for general praise, but trying to understand whether those patients were hoping for the same kinds of results I was hoping for.

That part was really important to me. I didn’t want to rely only on polished marketing. I wanted to hear from real people and understand their goals, their standards, and whether their experiences aligned with mine. I also downloaded several Korean apps to expand my research, and I reached out to friends in Korea as well. That local, on-the-ground perspective was incredibly helpful and gave me another layer of confidence beyond what I could find online.

Why I Chose Motiva Implants

For implants, I chose Motiva. The reason was simple: to me, they looked and felt the most natural. I also liked the way they settle because of their ergonomic design. Since my top priority was a natural-looking result, this choice felt consistent with everything else I had been working toward from the beginning.

I wanted every decision in this process to support that same overall goal. From choosing Korea, to choosing a specialized clinic, to choosing the implant type, I was trying to create the best possible path toward a result that would feel balanced, soft, and believable.

Consultation, Communication, and Feeling Informed

One of the most reassuring parts of this experience has been the consultation process at Seojin. The consultation and checkups have felt seamless. The doctor was extremely informative, seemed to understand exactly what I wanted, and communicated very clearly about what was possible.

That clarity made a huge difference for me. I feel like I’m going into surgery with my eyes open. I don’t feel like I’m walking into surprises, and that gives me real confidence. It’s one thing to want a good result, but it’s another thing to feel that your doctor truly understands your expectations and is honest about what can be achieved.

The communication from the clinic has also been excellent, especially in English. From the moment I first reached out to the time I arrived in Korea, the staff has been phenomenal. Their English is excellent, and everything has been explained clearly. That has made the entire process much easier and has taken away a lot of potential stress. Having wonderful English-speaking staff has genuinely put me at ease.

Going Into Surgery Feeling Ready

At this point, I feel informed, well taken care of, and confident going into surgery. I’ve asked my questions, and I feel like they’ve been answered. That has allowed me to approach this moment with a sense of calm rather than fear.

I’m actually not very nervous. More than anything, I feel ready. After living with a result that I knew I wasn’t happy with, it feels good to be moving toward a solution. This has been a long process of reflection and research, and now that I’m here, I feel positive about the decision.

Looking Ahead

For me, breast revision surgery in Korea is about more than changing an appearance. It is about resolving something that has been bothering me since my original surgery and finally working toward a result that feels more natural and more like what I hoped for all along.

What brought me here was a combination of careful research, clear priorities, and the desire to find a specialist who truly understood my goals. So far, that journey has led me to a clinic where I feel heard, informed, and supported. And as I go into surgery, that sense of confidence matters just as much as anything else. It makes me feel that I am finally taking the right step toward the outcome I’ve wanted for a long time.
