A New Chapter in Korea
My name is Michelle Ansorge. I’m 55 years old, originally from the United States, and most recently I’ve been living in Florida. I came to Korea in April for two meaningful reasons: my daughter is here studying at a university, and I also wanted to pursue plastic surgery.

Even before I arrived, I spent time researching online so I could make a thoughtful decision. Once I got to Korea, everything became more real—and more possible—because I connected with Justin through Shin Medical. That introduction ended up being a key step in my journey, because he helped me find View, the clinic where I’d already have an important first experience.
Why I Started Considering Plastic Surgery Abroad
Coming to Korea wasn’t only about being close to my daughter during her studies—it also felt like the right moment to explore something I’d been thinking about. I didn’t come impulsively. I looked into options online first, then continued learning once I arrived.
Having support on the ground mattered. Meeting Justin through Shin Medical helped turn general research into a clear plan. Instead of feeling like I was navigating everything alone in a new country, I felt guided toward a clinic that I could actually evaluate for myself.
Finding View Through Shin Medical
After arriving in Korea, I met Justin through Shin Medical, and he helped me find View. That connection made the process smoother and more confident for me, especially because choosing a clinic is one of the biggest decisions when you’re considering surgery.
What stood out was that it didn’t feel like I was being pushed into a decision. It felt like I was being directed toward a place that could meet high expectations—expectations I have not only as a patient, but also as someone who works in the medical field in the U.S.
My First Procedure at View: Lower Blepharoplasty
Back in April 2020, I had a lower blepharoplasty done at View. That experience became the foundation for everything I’m doing now, because I was genuinely impressed with my results.
It’s one thing to read about outcomes or see photos online, but it’s another to personally go through a procedure and come away feeling satisfied. My lower blepharoplasty gave me direct evidence of the clinic’s work and helped me feel like I could trust them for something more significant later.
What Gave Me Confidence as a Medical Professional
Because I work in the medical field in the U.S., I pay attention to details that many people might not think about right away. Before my surgery, I was able to see the operating room at View and get a sense of how everything was done.
What I saw made a strong impression on me. I was impressed with the equipment, and I was impressed with how sterile everything was. That matters—especially when you’re choosing surgery in another country—because it speaks to standards, preparation, and overall professionalism. Seeing that environment helped me feel comfortable moving forward with my lower blepharoplasty, and it plays a big role in why I’m choosing to return.
The Decision to Move Forward with a Face and Neck Lift
Now I’m moving forward with a face and neck lift. Honestly, I never thought I’d actually want to do this, but I’d like to look the way I did 10 or 15 years ago. That desire isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about reconnecting with a version of myself that still feels familiar.

One of the biggest influences on my decision was my mom. Around age 65, she had a full facelift, and she looked amazing. Even more convincing to me is that she still looks great 12 years later. Seeing that kind of long-term result made this feel less like a wild idea and more like a realistic option—something that could be worth doing at the right time.

Nervousness, Trust, and Choosing View Again
I’m a little nervous, honestly. It is surgery. And because I work in the medical field, I know there can be complications. Knowing that doesn’t make the nerves disappear—it probably makes me more aware of what surgery can involve.
At the same time, I trust View. I’ve seen their work before, and I was impressed. I’ve also had the chance to observe their operating environment and how things are done behind the scenes. That combination—results I experienced personally, plus what I observed professionally—is why I’m choosing to move forward with them again for a face and neck lift.

Looking Ahead
Even with the nerves, I’m really looking forward to it. This feels like a step I’m choosing thoughtfully, based on my own experience at View and on what I’ve seen in my mom’s transformation over time. I came to Korea for family and for personal goals, and this procedure is part of that journey.
I’ll see you guys afterwards.
