Rhinoplasty
Description
Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is a surgical procedure aimed at altering the structure of the nose for either cosmetic or functional purposes. The first phase of the procedure typically involves a detailed pre-operative consultation where the surgeon evaluates the patient's nasal structure, discusses their aesthetic goals, and performs necessary medical assessments. On the day of the surgery, the patient is administered either general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, depending on the complexity of the surgery and patient preference. The surgeon then makes incisions either inside the nostrils (closed rhinoplasty) or across the columella, the strip of tissue separating the nostrils (open rhinoplasty), to access the underlying bone and cartilage. In the second phase, the surgeon meticulously reshapes the nasal structure according to the pre-operative plan. This may involve removing bone or cartilage, augmenting the structure with cartilage grafts, or repositioning existing tissues. In some cases, the septum, which is the partition inside the nose, may be straightened and the internal nasal passages improved to enhance breathing. After the necessary adjustments are made, the incisions are carefully closed with sutures, and the nose is often stabilized with internal tubes or splints to support the new structure during the initial healing phase. Post-operative care includes monitoring for swelling and bruising, managing pain, and ensuring proper healing with follow-up appointments. Patients typically see initial results within a few weeks, though the final shape of the nose may not be fully apparent until up to a year after the procedure due to gradual subsiding of swelling.
Ailments treated by this procedure: Dorsal Hump, Nasal Obstruction, Tension Nose, Crooked Nose, Post-fracture Deformity, Nasal Asymmetry, Nasal Breathing Difficulty, Post-traumatic Nasal Deformity, Aging Nose, and Long Nose

Closed Rhinoplasty at Cohen Clinic, led by Dr. Park Gwi-ho, emphasizes a technique refined over more than 20 years of practice. Here's an overview of the Closed Rhinoplasty procedure offered at the clinic located in Gangnam, known for its pursuit of natural-looking results and a history of operation since 2004: About Closed Rhinoplasty Method: Closed rhinoplasty is characterized by the absence of an external incision on the columella (the tissue bridge between the nostrils). Instead, all surgical work is done through incisions made within the nostrils. Scarring: This approach eliminates visible scarring on the columella, which is a significant advantage for those concerned about noticeable post-surgery marks. Tissue and Blood Vessel Preservation: The technique minimizes damage to blood vessels and tissues, leading to fewer side effects and contributing to a safer surgical experience. Side Effects and Recovery: Closed rhinoplasty is associated with a lower probability of side effects. Patients typically experience less bruising and swelling, facilitating a quicker recovery period compared to more invasive methods. Surgical View: The primary challenge with closed rhinoplasty is the limited field of view during the operation. This constraint demands a high level of skill and experience from the surgeon, qualities that Dr. Park possesses. Revisions: The clinic's extensive experience enables the team to undertake even complex revision surgeries successfully, adjusting even the shape of the columella as needed. Advantages of Choosing Cohen Clinic for Closed Rhinoplasty Experienced Surgical Specialist: Dr. Park Gwi-ho is a surgical specialist with more than 20 years of experience focused exclusively on the closed rhinoplasty method. Natural Results: The clinic's philosophy centers on achieving a natural nose shape, leveraging years of experience and continuous efforts to attain beauty that complements each patient's unique features. Focus on Safety: With a procedure that minimizes tissue damage and prioritizes safety, patients can expect a smooth recovery and lower risk of complications. Dr. Park Gwi-ho and Cohen Clinic's specialization in closed rhinoplasty reflects a commitment to excellence and patient satisfaction, tailoring procedures to individual needs for optimal outcomes.
